Domestically produced Chinese beef is on sale at a supermarket in Beijing, Friday, May 12, 2017. A new trade deal with the US could help feed China's growing appetite for beef. The United States, for its part, promised under the deal to allow Chinese cooked poultry to enter its market no later than July 16. The deadline is the same for US beef imports to China, which have been banned since 2003 following a case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy or mad cow disease. The United States said it will send a delegation to the conference, to be attended by 29 leaders and representatives from over 100 countries.
